Letters to My Former Self: Week 2

 Letters to My Former Self
This is week two of Letters to My Former Self with Lisette at Northern Belle Diaries.

This week's question:
What did you think about dating and marriage the year before you met "the one?

Dear Sarah,
This is your fourth year of being single and it's time to just forget about boys and concentrate on what you're going to do. You crush so easily on any boy that seems like a good match, only then to be disappointed by their lack of interest.
They keep leading you on and you know in your heart that they are not boyfriend or marriage material, even if they do attend a Christian school.
Dating used to be so easy in high school and college. Then you got into two serious relationships, one wanted to marry you but you seriously made it difficult to keep him around. And then you thought your last boyfriend was the one, but he didn't seem to be on the same page, despite the 10 year age gap.
Now you've been on a four year dry spell, with no future prospects and your heart broken again for the millionth time (July 2011). Really, Sarah, I think it is time for you to come to the realization that there is no one out there for you. Just be happy in your singleness and maybe just maybe someone will finally see how wonderful you are and love you just the way you are.

"Just the way you are"

September (Labor Day, September 2011)
You don't know this yet, but you just met your future husband!!
You had your heart broken in the summer and it was the last straw for you!
Your normal pattern is to be all over the guy and most likely scare him off, but because you're not even interested in your future husband or trying to talk to him, you don't even realize that he's asking for your number, not trying to give you directions to the tennis court.
He normally doesn't chat online, but he comes on because he knows you do.
He says yes to all your requests to hang out because he wants to spend time with you.
This is why your heart kept getting broken over those other guys, so you would finally be able to see the one that was for you.

We made it official on FB!

  4. What a sweet ending! I was the same way with my hubs... after our first date I never expected to hear from him again. The funny thing is that he thought the same thing about me. Both of us apparently are really bad at that odd first date good bye thing! haha Good thing my politeness won and I sent that thanks for a great dinner email! =)

As Roald Dahl once said, “A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.” So add a little nonsense in the comment box! Thanks!
